The right speed limit can save lives. Knowing where the limit is wrong across thousands of kilometers, is the hard part.

On 28 October, the finalist teams of the AI for Safer Roads Safer Speeds Innovation Challenge 2026 present their solutions live to an international selection committee panel – and to you.

Earlier this year, we asked teams anywhere in the world to build AI models that could pinpoint where speeds are putting road users at risk, using real road data from Asia. 46 teams from 15 countries took it on. The strongest then spent two months turning their models into working and interactive tools: turning speed and road safety data into something an ADB road safety expert or government planner could open and act on.

Watch the finalists pitch, see the tools in action, and hear the jury put them to the test. The 2-hour event is online and open to the public.

[The finalists will be announced on this page by 9 October, 2026]
