Crowdsourcing ADB Expertise Locator from Public
Create a collaborative employee network to help connect ADB Employees!
This challenge is open to General Public from ADB member countries.
You can create a team consisting of any external participants outside ADB as long as they are from ADB member countries.
Overview
The Asian Development Bank currently employs over 3000 full-time employees, external contractors and interns. As such, it is difficult for our staff to personally know one another on a grand scale. This is especially true during the time of Covid-19 where most operations are done remotely. It is also complicated for new recruits to get to know their indirect colleagues - individuals who are not on their team.
Additionally, the current employee database at ADB is a simple tool that essentially indicates a person’s name and job title but does not give any information about their past projects, specific skills or areas of interest.
As a result, teams and employees spend a considerable amount of time on certain tasks/projects and do not know how to find people with the adequate knowledge and expertise to help them.
With a well designed, comprehensive, and collaborative networking tool, it would be possible for ADB employees to easily find the people they need, with the relevant experience, skills and expertise to help them solve specific issues. This will result in increased work efficiency and create more bridges between the employees of different backgrounds in these times when remote work is a norm and nurturing interpersonal relationships at work is a challenge.
Currently used tools at ADB to record employee data
There are currently various digital tools which are used by ADB to record, store and access employee data. They collect varying types and levels of information and are not well integrated. These tools include:
-

This tool allows staff to search ADB’s employee directory to access basic contact information, designation and location.
-
MyCareer
This online talent management platform that enables staff and managers to manage their career and allows the organization to search for talent required for specific projects.
-
HR4U

-
