Remote Monitoring and Evaluation of ADB Projects using Internet of Things

Real-time visibility into ADB’s projects performance​

 

Launch: 

The challenge will be launched on the week of August 10, 2020, with support from key business champion, in coordination with Software AG as a technology partner. 

 

Application:  The proposal should be submitted on or before October 16, 2020 with a deadline set at 1700 hrs [GMT +8]. The following content should be provided: 

- Team Introduction: Name and professional background (including short 1-page CV) for all members of the team submitting applications. 

- Presentation with  

  • idea and value proposition of a digital solution that can remotely monitor ADB projects by capturing timely, accurate project performance data using IoT technologies; ​ 
  • details on the IoT device, data inputs, research methodology and any existing installations or pilots, ​ 
  • evidence of understanding of pilot location (selected country), including how ADB projects are currently monitored and evaluated. Provide some thought about how to enable IoT technology in pilot location and how to engage with government agencies or private sector. 
  • details on how the product can be scaled up and managed in the long run 

 

The teams will also be invited to engage and submit questions in a webinar that will be facilitated by ADB together with Software AG for technical sessions on the use of the IoT and API platforms.  Webinar details including date and time, how to join the webinar and topics to be covered will be shared in the challenge platform.  

 

Evaluation:  Proposal submissions will be evaluated and up to 10 submissions will be shortlisted to proceed by the end of the round. Shortlisted teams will be notified on October 23, 2020 at 1600 hrs [GMT +8]. 

 

Mentoring:  Shortlisted teams will be paired with Software AG platform experts to refine the proposed solution from October 26 to November 6, 2020.   

 

Pitching:  The 10 shortlisted teams will have an opportunity to present their final solutions to the Jury, including a required live demonstration of tools, methods, and findings. Participants are required to upload their Deliverable by November 12, 2020 at 1800 hrs [GMT +8]. The Challenge Pitching will take place on November 13, 2020. Winners will be announced on November 22, 2020. 

 

Pilot: The winning team will pilot the solution using SAG’s IoT platform for a selected project in one of ADB's developing member countries.  Target pilot completion is around January 31, 2020.
