THE CHALLENGE

 

To keep relevant and drive progress in today’s world, ADB is calling start-ups, students and general public to develop new ideas and solutions to:

  •  Assess individual levels of digital skills
  •  Recommend individual learning programs to build digital skills
 

 

THE CONTEXT

According to The World Economic Forum, more than 50% of employees will require significant training and upskilling by 2022. Regardless of roles, years of experience, and educational background, individuals need to adopt new digital skills to work in the ever-changing digital environment.

For example, bankers, lawyers and economists need to understand AI and robotics to stay on top of their professions.

 

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE?

 
The goal of this challenge is to empower employees to comfortably navigate the constantly changing digital world and become a driving force for innovation. The winning team’s solution will be deployed throughout the ADB's office and possibly to other similar organizations. 
 
If you are up for the challenge, propose your solution on how to provide an innovative experience to the ADB's most valuable assets, its employees. Here are some pointers that indicate that your solution will meet ADB’s expectations:

Personalized assessment of each individual’s needs and suggest the required skills to be acquired

 VR/AR

Fully immersed in the experience

 Chatbot

Respond to any specific question related to the organization and culture that can’t be found on Google

 

Don't forget, ideas in the digital sector are endless! So feel free to submit other solutions that fall in the "out of the box" section!
 
Creative and innovative ideas will be most valued!

Finalist Teams will be rewarded with a sponsored trip to ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines to participate in a 2-day Hackathon on August 31–September 1 and Awarding Ceremony on September 2, 2019.

THE 5 FINALIST TEAMS WILL BE INVITED TO PITCH THEIR BOLD IDEA AND PROJECT DURING A 2-DAY HACKATHON AT THE MULTIFUNCTION HALL, ADB HEADQUARTERS, MANILA, PHILIPPINES 
 
>> Travel grant of $400 for each team coming from the Philippines
>> Travel grant of US$1,000 for each team coming from outside the Philippines (Southeast Asia)
>> Travel grant of US$1,500 for each team coming from outside the Philippines (Rest of the World)
