CAREC Climate Resilience Challenge 2025

The CAREC Climate Resilience Challenge, led by ADB-Korea Climate Technology Hub, seeks innovative tech-driven solutions to climate risks in Central Asia. The selected solution providers will be awarded $10,000, funded by the Republic of Korea e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund (EAKPF), and will be invited to the 2025 Climate Resilience Forum in Kyrgyz Republic.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria below:

  • Relevance & Impact (30%)

  • Proposals must address a real and urgent climate issue faced by CAREC countries, such as droughts, floods, glacier retreat, agricultural degradation, or waste management. Solutions should demonstrate measurable climate and social impact—such as conserving water, reducing pollution, and improving local livelihoods.

  • Technology & Innovation (20%)

  • The proposal should showcase a high level of innovation—either introducing a novel concept or significantly improving an existing one. The proposed technology must be technically sound and proven in real-world conditions, moving beyond theoretical ideas.

  • Implementation Feasibility (25%)

  • A clear and detailed implementation plan is essential, with a step-by-step, month-by-month roadmap for execution. The solution must be designed for the local context in CAREC countries—simple, low-cost, easy to operate, and maintain.

  • Sustainability & Business Model (15%)

  • Proposals should include a long-term sustainability plan beyond the prize award, outlining how the solution will be maintained through revenue models, service fees, or partnerships. Financial viability and the potential to scale to other regions are also key considerations.

  • Team & Expertise (10%)

  • The team must demonstrate relevant technical experience in sectors such as climate, energy, agriculture, and water. Strong partnerships and engagement with local governments, NGOs, and communities will strengthen the proposal.
