Rapid Prototype: AI-enabled ADB Country Briefing Note

ADB seeks innovative proposals for a rapid prototype that improves how Country Briefing Notes (CBNs) are prepared for country and regional visits, client meetings, management engagements, conferences, and other senior-level interactions.

The Challenge

ADB seeks innovative proposals for a rapid prototype that improves how Country Briefing Notes (CBNs) are prepared for country and regional visits, client meetings, management engagements, conferences, and other senior-level interactions.

The prototype should demonstrate how information from approved ADB sources can be gathered, organized, validated, and converted into a reliable, source-grounded, and human-reviewed briefing note. It should support traceability to source information, identify missing or conflicting evidence, and retain human validation and approval before any output is finalized.

The prototype is intended for proof-of-concept validation and will not replace ADB’s authoritative systems, automate final approval, or constitute a production-ready solution

Objectives

The objective is to design, configure, test, and demonstrate a lightweight working prototype that assists ADB staff in preparing Country Briefing Notes.

The prototype should enable ADB to assess the proposed approach’s feasibility, usefulness, accuracy, controls, source readiness, and suitability for further development. It should also provide sufficient findings, architecture, estimates, and a phased roadmap to inform a potential production investment in 2027.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES

  • Discovery and Prototype Brief --- A concise definition of the priority users, CBN workflow, representative scenarios, approved sources, success measures, key controls, assumptions, and prototype scope.

  • Co-creation Engagement and Prototype Design --- Engagement to confirm the target workflow, evidence model, user journey, human-review controls, prototype backlog, and acceptance criteria.

  • Working CBN Prototype --- A lightweight end-to-end prototype covering structured briefing requests, evidence retrieval, fact-pack preparation, source-grounded drafting, editable Word output, source references, and human validation.

  • Close-out and Product Roadmap --- A concise summary of the prototype, test results, feedback received, known limitations, reusable components, improvement backlog, potential production architecture, and indicative 2027 implementation roadmap and cost.
