Gearing Up towards the New Urban Mobility

 

APPLICATION PHASE

12 August - 30 October 2020 at 1700 hrs [GMT+8] 

The proposal should be submitted on or before October 30, 2020, with a deadline set at 1700 hrs [GMT +8]. The following content should be provided:

  • Team Introduction: Name and professional background (including short 1-page CV) for all members of the team submitting applications.
  • Presentation with (i) idea and value proposition; (ii) details on the underpinning technology and data inputs, (iii) explanation of the solution (iv) details on how to maintain the product in the long run

EVALUATION PHASE

1-19 November 2020 
All submissions will be evaluated and up to 10 will be shortlisted to proceed to the next round of the competition. Shortlisted teams will be notified on November 19, 2020 at 1600 hrs [GMT +8].

MENTORING PHASE

23 November to 2 December
 
Shortlisted teams may be paired with ADB experts and other subject matter experts to further understand the context of the problem and refine the proposed solution till December 2, 2020. The teams will be invited to engage and submit questions in a webinar that will be facilitated by ADB. Mentors will be available for a total of 1 hour for each team to review and give feedback to their proposal.

PITCHING PHASE

December 10, 2020

 

The 10 shortlisted teams will have an opportunity to present their final solutions to the Jury, including a required live demonstration of tools, methods, and findings. Final entries are required to be PowerPoint presentations of no more than 10 slides uploaded as PDFs to the platform; a prototype of the proposed solution, either as a functional application (either a mobile application or a web application or a set of wireframes; and a short video demonstration. Prototypes must be accompanied by a guidance note of no more than 2 pages detailing its functionality. Videos must be limited to 2 minutes in length and accessible by a URL/link. These should be submitted via the platform. Participants are required to upload their Deliverables before pitching. The Challenge Pitching will take place on December. Winners will be announced on the same day.

 

Proposals will be judged based on: 

  • Clearly-defined and relevant solution to a transport challenge and rationale to
    produce the desired change - 40%
  • Operational feasibility, scalability including aspects related to accessibility and inclusion and potential for institutionalization - 30%
  • Innovation – 20%
  • User Experience – 10%
