School closures and health risk concerns have halted many educational systems.  With hundreds of millions of students out of classrooms, schools cannot return to normal.  How do we restructure our educational systems to make them more resilient during disruptions?

 

The pandemic led to an abrupt shift to online delivery of classes, webinars, work-from-home arrangements.  But it has also made the digital divide in education practices quite obvious.  Those with lower household incomes, living in remote places, or without good internet access are at a disadvantage.  And even those better off, the challenges of distance learning are very real.
