CAREC University Startup Generator 2022

CAREC University Startup Generator is calling all full-time university students in all fields from CAREC member countries: Azerbaijan, People's Republic of China, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Go to hiring after your registration at the platform to form or join a team of other eligible participants from the countries above using filters. Eligibility Criteria

 

Nationality of at least one of the CAREC countries

  • Full time university student studying at CAREC member countries (Azerbaijan, People's Republic of China, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) and holding nationality of at least one of these countries
  • Willingness to work with diverse teams across countries, cultures and genders
  • While not mandatory, working knowledge of English language will be helpful*  
  • Participation will be in teams - you need to form/join a team to be able to participate
  • Commitment to working on the tasks on time remotely for 6 weeks  
 
*You are expected to submit the tasks and communicate with mentors/experts in English - so, it is advisable to have English speaking person(s) in a team. Teams can use translation tools for their submission.

Heart diseases such as myocardial infarction, angina, and heart failure are increasing with a high fatality rate every year.
 
How would you use IT to reduce the number of deaths from heart diseases?

FinTech


The majority of people lack financial stability and mainly rely on bank credit and loans, leading them to borrow money at high interest rates.
 
How would you improve access to finance for people and businesses using IT?

CleanTech


Communities all over the world are feeling the effects of just 1°C of warming, from extreme heat to uncontrollable fires to withering food crops to disappearing ice.
 
How would you reduce global warming using IT?

AgroTech


Agriculture's contribution to global GDP has shrunk to just 3%, less than one-third of what it was just a few decades ago.
 
How would you use IT to alleviate future food scarcity and hunger?

  • Each team is responsible for independent planning their virtual meetings with team members to work on the challenge activities and submit them on time.Your results uploaded to the platform on time are important to proceed to the next steps of the challenge. 
  • This Challenge Platform has integrated discussion wall and video conferencing tools for you to communicate and meet virtually. We suggest you spend some time familiarizing yourself with the platform’s features.
  • Consultations with mentors and subject experts to discuss and refine your solutions will be available on an appointment basis through our scheduling platform
  • The quality of the results will be evaluated during the mentorship sessions and Demo Day.
